The search...

I need a Miesbacher hat!!

The search has lead me to only two places online; Ernst Licht, who seems to be sold out?
Each time I hit the "add to cart' button, it never shows up in said cart :-(
Plus, his prices are a bit high.
Then there is another place that has a simple list of items they have up for sale, no shopping cart system.
They have one ladies Miesbacher hat left, so I sent them an email to see if it's still available.
Who knows.
They may not have updated that page since 2002, ugh.
I've been wanting one of these hats since I was a little girl, and even whenever we visited family in Austria/Bavaria, they seemed impossible to find.
I had found a badly banged up vintage one in Salzburg, but the lady wanted $300 US dollars for it.
No thanks.
I know they are still being made and that they are available. It's just finding them is a chore, and there are not a lot of online clothiers that sell the more obscure little accessories, such as this hat. Understandably, much of the traditional Tracht accessories that are still made, is very grassroots. Much as it has always been; sewn within the villages and regions they are associated with.
I could understand if they didn't want "Tourists" buying them, but it's pretty obvious my father and I aren't tourists when we inquire after them.
